Tara Ericksen is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that meaningful healing is possible at any stage of life. Her work focuses on supporting adults navigating trauma, complex PTSD, and women’s health concerns, with particular attention to the ways mental, emotional, and physical health intersect.
Tara practices from a trauma-informed framework that integrates education, compassion, and evidence-based psychiatric care. She has a clinical focus on complex trauma, pelvic pain, infertility, and other conditions that reflect the interconnected nature of psychological and physical wellbeing.
Originally from Oregon, Tara earned her undergraduate degree from Pomona College and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Columbia University. She went on to earn her nurse practitioner degree from Georgetown University, where she worked as both a critical care and behavioral health nurse during her training.
Throughout her career, Tara has worked in psychiatric urgent care settings and community-based women’s health clinics. She has also introduced Adverse Childhood Experiences screening in clinical environments to help patients better understand how early life experiences can influence long-term health.
Her approach emphasizes education, empowerment, and collaborative care, helping individuals better understand the connections between past experiences and present health while working toward meaningful and lasting recovery.
