Marcene Marcus serves as Clinical Director of Outpatient Services, bringing more than three decades of experience across the mental health continuum.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Barbara, where she led a peer stress counseling team. She later studied Gerontology at USC before completing her Master’s in Clinical Social Work at Columbia University, where she also pursued a law minor.

At Ocean Psychiatry: A Salma Health affiliated clinic, Marcene oversees outpatient clinical programming, associate development, and adherence to evidence-based standards of care. She plays a key role in advancing operational excellence while ensuring treatment remains patient-centered, measurable, and aligned with best practices.

Her therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic insight with structured, evidence-informed interventions. She specializes in trauma recovery, grief and loss, relationship and family dynamics, infertility and adoption, parenting and co-parenting support, and addressing therapeutic resistance and treatment barriers. Within Salma Health’s integrated model, she collaborates closely with psychiatric and interventional teams to ensure therapy supports broader brain health outcomes and long-term stability.
