Joseph Tran, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Joseph Tran is a double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to advancing brain health and promoting holistic wellness through interventional psychiatry. With over eight years of experience in healthcare, Joseph has worked across diverse clinical settings-including the emergency room, intensive care unit, and primary care-gaining a deep understanding of how physical and mental health intertwine.

Early in his career, Joseph witnessed firsthand the profound impact of mental illness while working in the ER. He cared for patients struggling with psychosis, suicidal ideation, and acute mania, and supported families navigating the pain of bereavement and crisis in the ICU. These experiences revealed the vital importance of mental health and inspired Joseph to focus his career on prevention, early intervention, and compassionate care.Transitioning to outpatient primary care, Joseph saw how frequently depression and anxiety affected his patients’ overall health and quality of life. This further solidified his decision to specialize in psychiatric mental health, where he could address the root causes of emotional suffering and help patients achieve balance and resilience.

In addition to his clinical experience, Joseph has served as a Director of Nursing and Sub-Investigator for clinical trials-roles that strengthened his appreciation for evidence-based practice and the importance of treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Joseph’s approach to care is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and innovation. He believes in meeting each patient where they are, providing support that honors their story, and empowering them to reclaim their sense of purpose and well-being. His mission is to help individuals not only manage their symptoms but truly thrive-mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Is Salma Health right for me?

If you’re living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other mental health challenges and haven’t found the relief you deserve, Salma Health may be a good fit. Our approach combines advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment, and compassionate care to help you find what truly works for you. The first step is a short consultation with our team, we’ll help determine the best path forward together.

Does Salma Health take my insurance?

We work with most major insurance providers and can verify your coverage before your first appointment. If you’re paying out of pocket, we also offer transparent pricing and flexible payment options to make care accessible. Our team is happy to walk you through your options step-by-step.

How long does treatment at Salma Health take?

Everyone’s journey is different. Many people begin to feel better within days of starting treatment. Achieving full remission can take longer and depends on the severity of symptoms. Because major depressive disorder is a long-term condition, relapses can occur, and ongoing support is often needed.

How do I know what therapies are right for me?

Every journey at Salma Health begins with a comprehensive evaluation led by our clinical team. Together, we’ll understand your symptoms, history, and goals, then design a personalized care plan that may include TMS, esketamine, talk therapy, or other evidence based treatments. No two care plans are alike; each is tailored to your unique needs.
