Flint M. Espil, Ph.D.

Dr. Flint Espil is the Director of Psychological Services at Salma Health. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. With over 60 published scientific articles and presentations, Dr. Espil’s clinical and academic interests span clinical trials, mediators of treatment response, and ways to improve outcomes among individuals with treatment resistant psychiatric conditions. This includes leveraging technology, including neuromodulation techniques (e.g., Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Accelerated Theta Burst Stimulation), with traditional empirically based therapies (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

Dr. Espil brings over a decade of experience working with patients and families in academic hospitals and medical centers, intensive service programs (intensive outpatient, residential), and traditional outpatient settings. His clinical expertise includes anxiety and mood disorders and Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. In addition to providing direct care to patients, Dr. Espil also trains and supervises other mental health providers in both clinical and academic settings. He routinely serves as an investigator on clinical trials and has received awards from the American Academy of Neurology and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
