Andrew Penn, MS, PMHNP serves as Director of Clinical Nursing Operations at Salma Health, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He leads the organization’s nurse practitioner team, ensuring clinical excellence, evidence-based standards, and coordinated psychiatric care across programs.
He is also a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing, where he received the UCSF Academic Senate Distinction in Teaching Award. As a researcher, he has collaborated on translational studies of psilocybin and MDMA within the Translational Psychedelics Research program and the Carhart-Harris Lab at UCSF. He is a cofounder of the Organization of Psychedelic and Entheogenic Nurses and has published in leading peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Nursing, Frontiers in Psychiatry, The Journal of Humanistic Psychotherapy, and JAMA.
An internationally invited speaker, Andrew has lectured at SXSW, the Aspen Health Ideas Festival, TEDx, the Singapore Ministry of Health, and Oxford University.
