Born in San Diego, California, Dr. Nissinen spent the first 20 years of his life in Finland, then moved back to the United States to pursue medicine. Kristoffer Nissinen graduated in Biological Sciences at UC Irvine in 2007 and obtained his medical degree from the University of Arkansas, Medical Sciences School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Neurology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center and Long Beach VA Medical Center in 2015. Then continued advanced training at the UCSD Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of California, San Diego, working with highly renowned experts in the field of neurodegenerative disorders and as a clinical trials sub-principal investigator.

Kristoffer Nissinen specializes in the diagnostic evaluation and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s, Fronto Temporal Dementia, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Degeneration, and Multiple System Atrophy.
